What does insulin do? can some one break it down for me I dont understand any articles I read about insulin?

i heard insulin is very beneficial for building muscle and strength so I tried to do some research on insulin’s mechanics on building muscle and strength but i dont understand anything they say about glycogen and stuff

some body please help me understand what insulin does to build muscle and burn fat

Insulin does a whole lot of stuff, but how it relates to muscle building is this:
Insulin does two main things we care about. When we have a lot of carbs (especially high glycemic carbs) our blood sugar gets too high and it needs to be stored. So insulin is released and the extra sugar in the blood is stored in the liver, muscles, and as fat. Insulin also carries amino acids (protein is made up of amino acids) to your muscles.

After you workout, your muscles are broken down (muscles break down when you work them out) and they need to get protein very quickly so they can rebuild. This is why they say have a protein shake as soon as you can after your workout. So the quicker the protein gets to the muscle, the better.

So if you can increase your insulin levels and have a protein shake and make the insulin take the protein to your muscles, you would get a much greater benefit then if you were to just have the protein shake and have the protein get to your muscles at a slower rate. The protein would still get to your muscles, just not as fast.

So to do this, you would need to increase your insulin levels by having high glycemic carbs. High glycemic carbs cause your blood sugar to increase quickly which causes the insulin to get released to store the extra sugar in your blood (first into your muscles and liver and then extra amount would be stored as fat). At the same time, the protein from the protein shake would be broken down into amino acids and be taken to your muscles.

There are other ways of doing this and quicker ways. Some crazy bodybuilders will actually inject insulin, which is a very stupid thing to do. You could go into an insulin coma and keep in mind a lot of people DIE doing this. Also, there is not that much benefit in doing this. The cost is much greater than the benefit.
